New Zealand Diploma in Information Technology Systems Administration (Level 6)
Duration: 36 Weeks (1 Academic Year)
This programme will:
Provide students with the professional and technical skills required to work in specialised areas of Systems Administration and IT Technical Support in accordance with industry standards and practice. Students will also learn the technical knowledge required to successfully achieve industry certifications such as MCSA, MCSE, and CCNA.
On successful completion of this programme, Graduates:
- Will be able to work in an organisation with appropriate professional and technical standards, maintain and resolve issues related to systems administration, provide service and technical support at international standards.
- Will be able to seek roles as a Systems Administrator, IT Support Technician, Desktop Support Specialist, Systems Engineer, Service Desk Technician or Service Desk Analyst.
Applicants are required to hold the New Zealand Diploma in IT Technical Support (Level 5) [Ref: 2596] or equivalent or, be able to demonstrate the required skills and knowledge. In addition, Students may be required to undertake a further interview to determine their suitability for the programme.
English Language Entry Requirements for international students where English is not their first language, students must have IELTS 6.0 with no band less than 5.5; or an equivalent as approved and set out in the NZQA Programme Approval and Accreditation Rules.
Students are eligible to work part time 20 hours weekly. After graduating, the students may be eligible to apply for Post Study Work Visa which allows for full time employment for up to 12 months.
