National Certificate in Early Childhood Education and Care (Level 5)
AWI - International Education Group offers the National Certificate in Early Childhood Education and Care as a 36 week course of full time study.Graduates will have an extensive range of knowledge and skills across key elements of early childhood education, allowing them to progress either into further study, or into employment with an introduction of early childhood education and their role within an organization. Graduates will have particularly strong knowledge in the fields of professional practice, educational theory, learnin g and development family and community.
The course:
1. Provides knowledge in the early childhood educational fields up to level 5.
2. Introduces students to early childhood subjects that will be further developed at Levels 6 & 7. These provide for a vertical integration between the two levels, such as in the subjects of: Professional Practice, Policy Development, Curriculum, Programme Planing and Regulations.
3. Provides a complete stand-alone course for those graduates who do not wish to proceed to the Level 7 Diploma of Teaching.
4. Meets satisfactory dimensions of a teacher as defined by Teacher’s Council guidelines.
Entry Requirements:
Completion of Year 12 or equivalent with good credits from their home country, and an IELTS minimum of 6.0 or English language skills measured by the AWI - International Education Group’s placement test for National Certificate in Early Childhood Education and Care (Level 5). Applicants are required to sign a personal and professional safety form agreeing to a Police check and must not have any criminal convictions which would preclude them from working with children in a position of trust, or have any medical, physical or psychological condition that would preclude them from working work with children.
Note: if necessary, tuition of English as a second language is available at AWI for international students.
